Stormy Seas
3.25''X4''
Alta
4''X3''
These two pieces were more or less practice for a larger piece I've been working on, but I really liked how they turned out.  They are both pastel on suede board, but the top one also has ink on it.  I hadn't done pastel in a long time and I wanted to remember how it looked, which is what the bottom one was for.  I like how in the mountain there are harshly contrasting colors but the pastel still gives it softness.  The top one was really me just continuing to put ink on everything and seeing how it turns out.  I would say it was a success.  I love how the ink interacted with the suede board.  It soaked in and became really saturated, and the texture of the board allowed me to create interesting texture in the piece.   Also, I like how the structure of the ink contrasts with the softness of the pastel.

"May the Four Fundamental Forces Be With You" T-Shirt Design
5''X7''
This was done for a t-shirt design contest for the district wide science fair.  The text was required, so the assignment was to create a graphic design piece using the words as a starting point.  I started with just the yellow words on the starry background, inspired by Star Wars.  After that, I decided there wasn't enough color, so I added the blue and yellow background.  I like how it turned out to have a retro feel, created by the shapes and the color scheme of the background.  This piece was done with paint pens, sharpie, and white ink on water color paper.
